Description of Lesson / Contemporary dance / Repertoire for teenagers

Designed for young dancers, age 12-17.

The aim of the workshop is intensive work with the movement; participants will focus on the creation of short solos, duets and group choreographies. Lessons will begin with a warm-up dance, based on the techniques of contemporary dance (floor work) and gradually will go to discover work with weight, dynamics, power of the moment, and one's own creativity.

Graduated from Academy of Performing Arts in Prague (Choreography, Ph.D.). As a dancer, she participated in the projects of choreographers: Claude Brumachon (CND Nantes), Nir de Volff, Norman Douglas, Willi Dorner, Maya Lipsker, DOT504 and others. Awarded the prize "The most outstanding dancer" in the festival Masdanza (Spain). Nominated for the dancer of the year at Czech Dance platform festival and at Am beste Deutshe Solo competition in Leipzig. Her projects were put on stage within the festivals Tanec Praha, Biennale de la danse in Lyon, Euro-Scene Leipzig. Aerowaves in London, Aerodance in Amsterdam and Masdanza in Spain (awarded the First prize for the group piece), Cynetart Festival (Hellerau, Dresden. She worked with The Dance School in Mazatlan (Mexico). In 2012 she created dance piece „The Savage Land" for Tanz companie of Theater Vorpommern and in 2013 and choreography for Vaclav Havel's Anticodes at Nova Scena (the New Scene of the National
Theatre in Prague). This latest production of Nova Scena and Laterna Magika was presented in New York, Miami and Washington.

She appeared as a guest in the Komedie Theatre (Klára S. - directed by David Jařab). Since 2009 she has be closely working with one of the most prominent programmer, light and sound designers in the Czech Republic. Together, they create a collective performance 15 STEPS (supported by Tanzplan Dresden) and UNSEEN. Vera is a guest teacher in Academy of
Performing Arts in Prague, at the New Scene of the National Theatre.
